About

Damián Januch

Slovak high school student with a long-term interest in technology, web development, Python, and experimenting with AI.

Most of what I learn in tech happens outside the classroom through curiosity, self-study, and building projects that help me understand how things work in practice.

My Story

I study at Gymnázium arm. gen. L. Svobodu, Humenné where the education is broad and general rather than focused on software or computer science. Because of that, most of my technical growth comes from my own time outside school.

My interest in technology started early. I was always curious about how computers, phones, and digital tools actually worked. I enjoyed exploring settings, testing things, and trying to understand systems rather than only using them.

At first, that meant following simple tutorials and experimenting without fully understanding everything. Later, it gradually turned into a deeper interest in building my own things and learning how technology works beneath the surface.

What I Build

I work on websites, Python projects, and experiments with AI, mainly as personal learning projects outside school.

Real Projects

I also work on practical things, including a website for the futsal team Klokani and projects connected to my wider interest in useful digital tools.

Where I’m Heading

In the future, I’m considering studying informatics or bioinformatics and continuing to grow through both academic study and hands-on work.

Why Tech Matters to Me

Technology has always felt meaningful to me not only because it is interesting, but also because it has been part of my everyday life. Living with type 1 diabetes gave me an early connection to devices, monitoring, and practical health technology.

That is part of why I’m especially interested in building tools that are useful in real situations, not just visually nice or technically complex for their own sake.

Beyond the Screen

Outside technology, I try to stay active through sport, cycling, walks, and swimming during the summer. I also enjoy mathematics, physics and chemistry, travel, and learning new things beyond one narrow field.

I do not present myself as a professional expert. I am still learning, still building, and still figuring out the direction I want to grow in — but I take that process seriously.
